"I'm Doing This For Me"..
There are so many reasons to book the shoot. You want to surprise your spouse with some sexy photos, you just had children and want to fall in love with your body again, you were in a bad relationship and are now healing and gaining your confidence back. Whatever the reason, boudoir can work wonders on a person's self love and self confidence.
Miranda responded to a model call I posted for an outdoor boudoir session at the ranch. I had this picture in my mind of how I wanted these shoots to go and when she reached out, I just knew that vision would be brought to life. Miranda is one of those women that you can just see the good in. There is this thing about her that draws you in and makes you want to be her friend. Truly a beauty inside and out. So, we scheduled her shoot and I began planning and prepping.
The day of the shoot came and we headed to the ranch to capture some magic. I think the Colorado winds have decided that they are going to be a part of every single shoot I do, so we just went with it. I used to dread shoots when wind was in the forecast because I just assumed the pictures wouldn't turn out and my clients would hate them all but now I've learned to embrace the wind. I love the chaos and realness it adds to a photo. I brought along a cowhide rug and my favorite high back, blue velvet chair to add a touch of softness to the Colorado plains landscape and we got started on creating some stunning images.
What I think I loved about this shoot the most is that afterward, when I was editing, I just felt like the images of Miranda that I captured show someone at peace and finding her confidence and I think she really nailed it. She really is a beautiful soul and it was such a pleasure to reconnect and capture her natural, kind beauty. I look forward to the day that I can get her back in front of my camera, as I know she will simply kill it.
