The Season of Growth
Spring has sprung and for many of us, that means decluttering, reorganizing and bringing life back into things after the long, cold days of winter. Trees get their leaves, the grass gets greener and flowers start to bloom. This is when I like to incorporate flowers into my shoots in the way of Flower Top Sessions. Not only do these shoots just scream 'Spring Is Here' but they also are another way to bring about an air of confidence and femininity to my clients.
Spring 2021 kicked off with Dvetta, my best friend of seventeen years. There is not a person I know of that epitomizes growth more than her. Life deals us all a hand, good or bad, and she rolls with the punches with only minor use of cuss words and alcohol. Raising two little girls, working full time and running her own business, she never stops trying for bigger and better.
As with most of our photo shoots, we impromptu decided to get a bouquet of flowers and head over to a little spot where that Colorado wind wasn't blowing us over to shoot some Flower Top shots as well as sweet moments with her and her beautiful daughters. Sessions with Dvetta and her girls are always fun and turn into more of play time than photo time, which I am more than okay with.
We snapped some beautiful shots of Dvetta and her girls and then transitioned to a different spin on my Flower Top Shoots. Dvetta brought along this denim jumpsuit that I am obsessed with and we spent some time capturing photos in a variety of buttoned and unbuttoned poses. It always fuels my creativity taking a different spin on my shoots. I like to tailor my shoots to who I am photographing and making the experience unique to them and this one was no different.
Flower Top Shoots are a lot like Boudoir in my opinion. Yes you can be topless and flaunt what you've got if that's your comfort level but there is also a delicate side to both and sometimes implying what you want to show without actually showing it can have a stronger impact. Feeling feminine and confident can feel empowering and as a visual story teller, I really go out of my way to help my Boudoir and Flower Top clients feel confident to take risks and feel confident in themselves.
